Office History

The original building was built by Elmer Buchta Sr. in 1948. In 1953 the building was destroyed by fire, shortly after, it was rebuilt. The area on the bottom left was a truck garage and driver's lounge. The offices of Elmer Buchta Trucking were located through the door to the right. The US Post Office did business in the part through the next door for many years. Then, in 1978, the section to the far right was added for additional office space. Family and drivers lived in apartments located on the second story. Corner stones for each of these events are seen on the front of the building. Extensive remodeling was done throughout the building in 1997.
